Barbara Fina, ASID, Principle Designer & Creative Designer
Barbara Fina leads Fina Design, an interiors and landscape design firm based in South Florida. Her mission is to offer a cohesive design experience that blurs the line between inside and out. The central core of her work method is to listen to you, and then carefully create environments that suit your needs, and sing your song.
Barbara Fina began contemplating a career in design early in life. A favorite pastime was incising floor plans for houses into the playground during lunch hour in grade school. In high school, she pursued the visual arts and upon graduation studied Communication Design at Parsons School of Design earning a B.F.A..
Taking her love of the three-dimensional form, she initially worked in package design, then led the information and identity graphics work at an architectural firm in NYC for large banks and brokerage firms. By 1985 she moved to specialize in large corporate identity and coordinated marketing programs at advertising agencies such as Grey Advertising, serving as their in-house design boutique for identity programs. In 1988 she struck out on her own forming a boutique corporate identity and marketing collateral firm Fina Design (Communications) which served both large Fortune 500 clients and well-funded start ups.
By 2003 she began addressing interior design solutions for her clients, moving toward her life-long passion and focus on the 3D environment. In 2007 she founded, Fina Design, LLC Interiors, focusing exclusively on interior design and landscape design. Her edge is combining critical project design strategy with each project and a lifetime of honed design management skills. Her work often includes custom furniture and her unique media walls.

"My everyday motto is, 'what can I take away from this experience? And how can I encapsulate this in a photo that I can share on Instagram?' That process of encapsulating a visual by taking a photo comes from my early career art directing for advertising. I am always on the lookout for things that excite me, from an everyday visit to a local museum to duplicating a color combo from nature for an interior to my favorite, exploring architecture around the world."
With Barbara’s love of travel, the arts, entertaining, and truly diverse design styles, she bring a fresh approach to each project. She believes that all residential design projects should be about encapsulating your unique style and must achieve essential client objectives in addition to looking great. This is the concept behind her design that improves living™ workshops and methodology.

Barbara is a lifetime student of design of the arts. She is continuously building knowledge through professional development classes, independent research, and publishing. She has been an active member of ASID, The American Society of Interior Designers, for over 10 years.
